Help us name our snowplows!
The City of Mound is inviting residents to help name our plows. Winning names will be displayed on the plows and used all season. Names must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages. Names may not include profanity, innuendo, or references to politics, religion, or any individual, business, or organization.
Submit your name ideas by November 11, 2026. Public Works staff will then choose their top 10 names from the submissions, and online voting will take place for the community to vote for their favorite from November 13 -24, 2026. We’ll announce the winning names on the City's website and social media channels on November 25, 2026.
Submit your snowplow name!
The winner(s) will get to:
- Take a photo with the plow and crew.
- Tour the Public Works building.
- Ride in the snowplow. You can choose from a ride in the plow around the City or a ride to school (must be a Mound/Westonka school).
Guidelines
Below are the guidelines for the snowplow naming contest.
- Winning participant(s) must be a Mound resident(s).
- Please limit submissions to 40 characters or less.
- Submissions that include profanity or other inappropriate language will not be considered.
- Politically inspired names (including phrases, slogans, or plays on politicians' names) will not be considered.
- The snowplow name can't include your own name.
- Names or words protected by copyright or trademark will not be considered.
- If multiple people submit the same name, the person who submits the name first will be credited.
- By submitting your entry, you agree to allow the City of Mound to use your submitted entry in a public and official capacity.
- Name(s) of the winning participant(s) will be shared in a news release, on the City’s website, and through social media and other communications channels.
- If your snowplow name is selected as the winner, you will be notified by phone or email.
- Winner(s) will get to take a photo with the plow and crew and ride in the snowplow around the City or get a ride to school (must be a Mound/Westonka School).
- City staff reserves the right to make adjustments to name submissions.
