City Elective Offices
The City of Mound holds city elections in even-numbered years and does not hold a primary for city elections. The City of Mound's five elected officials include the Mayor with a two-year term and four Councilmembers with four-year terms. The Councilmember terms are staggered so that only two seats are up for election at the same time. 

Councilmember seats are at-large and represent the entire City of Mound. All offices are nonpartisan. 

Candidate Filing
The candidate filing period for 2026 is from July 14 through July 28 at 5:00 p.m. at Mound City Hall.  A candidate can officially withdraw their candidacy through July 30. Information regarding Candidate Filings for Mound Offices can be found here.

Candidates for City Office are required to complete an Affidavit of Candidacy.  Each candidate will receive a packet of election materials at City Hall.
